Imagined Futures is deeply committed to addressing the rising levels of Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) across our region. We know this challenge requires a coordinated, strategic, and community‑driven approach – and that is exactly what we’re building.
By bringing together leaders from police, local refuges, state and local government, and not‑for‑profit services, we’re strengthening service integration, maximising existing resources, and advocating for the investment our communities need. This work spans primary prevention, early intervention, crisis support, and tertiary services.
Strengthening Frontline Capability
Last week, Imagined Futures facilitated a free training session for frontline workers: Understanding Family and Domestic Violence. Led by Communicare and the Patricia Giles Centre for Non-Violence, and supported by the City of Fremantle, the session focused on building understanding around violence‑supportive attitudes, beliefs, behaviours, and cultural norms.
Impact at a glance:
– 32 participants
– 14 organisations represented
– Increased confidence in recognising and responding to FDV
– Increased confidence in making referrals to support services
This training strengthens early intervention by equipping more workers to identify risk earlier and support individuals and families before harm escalates.
