Frontline workers are at the forefront of supporting those impacted by the cost of living and housing crises. This vital work can take a personal toll.
In this context, Imagined Futures was pleased to host “Exploring Burnout and Activating Self-Care” workshop, bringing together 15 dedicated workers from 8 different agencies. This timely training session, led by Romy Pritchard from RDP Enterprise Solutions, focused on understanding stress, compassion fatigue, and burnout. Participants learned to recognize signs and symptoms and explored prevention strategies like setting boundaries and practicing self-care.
The Imagined Futures Community of Practice, a group of frontline workers from the South West Metropolitan region, facilitated this training. This group regularly come together to identify gaps in service delivery and provide opportunities to build the capacity of frontline workers.
This marks the third training session delivered, with a total of 54 frontline workers participating so far. A big thank you to Neami National for funding these valuable sessions and the City of Cockburn for hosting this event.
One participant’s feedback truly captures the essence of the workshop:
“Great session, a reminder of how easy it is to burnout when working with social services and a stark reminder that when you realize your own worth and personal power through choice, you can maintain a healthy work-life balance.”
Together, we are building a stronger, more resilient community.
