Provide legal advice and assistance to women in WA, including matters relating to family violence and family law.
Areas of legal practice:
- Family Violence Restraining Orders – identifying and responding to orders
- Family Law – parenting related issues, some divorce and property matters
- Protection and Care – matters involving the Department of Communities
- Criminal Injuries Compensation – where it relates to family or sexual violence
Women experiencing or who have experienced family violence commonly have issues with at least one of these other areas of law.
If Women's Legal Service WA cannot help they will refer to another service who might be able to.
