Carer Gateway is a free support program for carers, providing emotional and practical support and services to assist those in a carer role.
Carers can be any age, including young carers who are children and young adults under 25, and are caring for a relative or friend who has:
- has a disability
- has a medical condition (terminal or chronic illness)
- has a mental illness
- is frail because they are old (known as ‘frail and aged’)
Carers can access a wide range of support – from counselling and peer support groups, to respite care, home help and equipment.
